Goodnight Already! by Jory John & Benji Davies

A Nocturnal Tale That Many Can Relate To

This is the first book in a very cute series.
  • Goodnight Already!
  • I Love You Already!
  • Come Home Already!
  • All Right Already!: A Snowy Story

The first spread shows duck studying a book, 101 Ways To Stay Awake, on the left and the right side shows one sleep bear.
"I've never been so tired. I could sleep for weeks. Months, even!"
Duck, Bear's next door neighbor, is wide awake, drinking coffee, and ready for some visiting. He happily heads next door.
"Bear! It's me! Duck! Open up! C'mon. buddy!"
Bear has settled in bed with his stuffed bunny, however, he manages to stumble downstairs and let Duck know he'd just fallen asleep. Duck excitedly informs bear that he's bored and would like to hang out for a while. Sleepy Bear listens to Duck suggest they watch a movie, make smoothies, start a band, play cards, and more. Bear doesn't hold back on being honest: No!

Duck dejectedly waddles back out the door and heads home as Bear climbs back in bed. But as he's trying to get back to sleep, Duck peeks through his bedroom window.
"Psst! Bear! It's Duck! From next door!"
Will these two neighbors ever be able to work out this problem?

My Thoughts

What Concerned Me: Nothing

What I Liked Most: While the concept isn't new and the ending isn't really a big surprise, the characters make this book. In fact, this first book in the Bear and Duck series will be a good book to begin learning more about these adorable neighbors. The illustrations are sure to bring on some
giggles and laughs.
