BROBOT Bedtime by Sudipta Bardhan-Quallen

 - Brobots, Time To Enter Sleep Mode! -

It's been a long day and it's time for the brobots to enter sleep mode. So Beep, Crash, and Buzz head off to bed. But Beep, the little robot, can't go to sleep because he has "the flick-ups." Buzz and Crash try to help, but their mom isn't happy to hear the noise, "gears turning up there" well past bedtime. She finally asks if they "need a hard reboot."

There is one reason after another that Beep can't sleep: too scared, can't sleep with the light on, too hot to sleep in a tent, etc. Eventually, Beep falls asleep but will Crash and Buzz now have a problem?

This story is in dialogue with color-coded speech balloons that are shaped to correspond with the speakers' heads.

My Thoughts

What Concerned Me:  The story was okay, but the illustrations were nearly impossible to see. Since the text was only speech bubbles, at times it felt hard to “compute.” This could have been a fun story, especially for robot-loving-boys.

What I Liked Most:  I liked the title and the story isn’t bad if the illustrations don’t bother you.
